WTS: MY2014 Porsche 991.1 911 GT3 – duty paid and yours for RM900k

0

Today you’re looking at a stealthy 911 GT3 which is looking for a caring new home. The 991 model GT3 was first introduced to the world back at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. It had a production lifespan of about four years, before Porsche revealed the facelift (bigger engine bore, more power and choice of manual box) at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.

Motivation in the 991.1 GT3 comes from a familiar 3.8 litre engine, capable of revving to 9,000 rpm and producing 475 PS and 440 Nm, mated to a seven-speed PDK transmission. This allowed the 991.1 GT3 to complete the century sprint in just 3.5 seconds, on towards a vmax of 315 km/h. Going with just these performance figures, the 991.1 GT3 bests the 997.2 GT3 RS in the numbers game.

Early batches of Porsche’s  991.1 GT3 delivered to customers were found to have engine failures. This fault was determined to be an issue from the connecting rod bolt, and Porsche issued a recall for all 785 cars which were delivered to customers. These cars were sent back to their respective dealerships and fitted with new engines. Customers affected by this recall were issued with an extra year of warranty.

The car we have listed for sale has many (and what we feel is correct) boxes ticked. This includes Sport Chronograph, Sport Exhaust, Clubsport package, PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management), and PCCB (Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes). While some may lament the lack of manual option, reality is you don’t really want to be stuck in KL traffic in a stick-shifter anyway.

It is a MY2014 car from the UK, which means it was part of the first batch of cars affected by the recall. We’ve checked with the owner who has confirmed that, while there were no initial signs of problems, was sent back to Porsche for an engine replacement and warranty extension.
